Terms of use and sale

These terms cover Lambent, Lambent Server, Lambent Enhance and Lambent Immersive. They are between you and the provider named at the end of this page (“we”). By using them or buying a subscription you agree to these terms.

Using Lambent

  • Your own video. Lambent includes no video. Use it only with files you have the right to play and process.
  • Your own network and equipment. Lambent Server runs on your computer. The enhanced picture depends on your graphics card, your network and your screens, and not every title or device can be enhanced.
  • Other services. Lambent can work with other software you already run, such as a Plex server. Those products belong to their owners, who do not endorse Lambent.
  • Don’t bypass the licence. Don’t bypass or tamper with licence checks in Lambent Server. Open-source parts of Lambent stay under their own licences, which these terms do not limit.

Lambent Enhance

  • What it is. Lambent Enhance lets one Lambent Server send the enhanced picture to the TVs, phones and tablets that play from it, and lets those screens upscale on the device when the server asks them to.
  • Free trial. A new Lambent Server includes a free trial. Without a trial or purchase, titles play in their original quality and the side-by-side compare stays available.
  • Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically, monthly or yearly, at the price shown when you buy, until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep access until the paid period ends.
  • Lifetime. The lifetime option is one payment that does not renew. It covers Lambent Enhance for as long as we offer it, on one Lambent Server at a time, including any relay we host for remote access.
  • Works offline for a while. Your server checks its licence about once a day and keeps working for up to 30 days without internet. After that it needs to reach the licence service again.

Lambent Immersive

Lambent Immersive is sold in the Apple Vision Pro app by Apple, as a subscription, a one-time purchase or a free 7-day trial, and unlocks its features for that Apple account. The subscription renews until you cancel it in your Apple account settings.

Who sells it, cancelling and refunds

  • On our website, Paddle is the seller and its buyer terms apply. Cancel from the link in your receipt. Our refund policy says when you can get your money back. A full refund of a payment ends Lambent Enhance straight away and cancels the subscription.
  • In an Apple app, Apple is the seller. Manage or cancel in your Apple account settings, and ask for refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • In an Android app, Google is the seller. Manage or cancel in Google Play, under Subscriptions, and refunds follow Google Play’s policies.

Nothing here limits refund or cancellation rights the law gives you where you live.

Changes

Features and prices may change. We will tell you before a price change reaches an existing subscription, as the store or Paddle requires. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will update the date above.

No warranty and limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, Lambent is provided as it is, without warranties, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability for all claims is limited to the greater of what you paid for Lambent in the 12 months before the claim arose and US$50. This limit doesn’t cover fraud, gross negligence or willful misconduct, and nothing here excludes liability or consumer rights that the law does not let us exclude.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without limiting mandatory consumer protections where you live.

If something goes wrong, please email us first, and we will try to sort it out within 30 days. Any dispute that remains goes to the state or federal courts in New York County, New York. You can still use small claims court where you live, and if the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts, this doesn’t take that away.

Who we are and how to reach us

Lambent is provided by Honver Lam, a sole proprietor, who is the party to these terms. Purchases on our website are sold by Paddle, as described above.
